Blank character turnaround template with 4 labeled panels and spaces for design notes

WHAT GOES IN EACH PANEL

Front to back. A readable view order.

01

Front

Read the silhouette, clothing layers and visible accessories straight on.

02

Three-quarter

Show the transition between the front and profile. This is a perspective view, not an orthographic projection.

03

Side

Check the forehead, nose, jaw, hair outline and depth of the outfit.

04

Back

Record rear seams, hair length and accessories. Mark design details that the source does not establish.

Build a turnaround that is easy to compare.

  1. Choose the four supplied views. Keep the entire head and feet visible. A front portrait alone does not supply the unseen side or back.
  2. Keep a common scale. Compare head size and the head-to-foot height across the row. Use the original artwork to resolve proportion differences rather than stretching a panel.
  3. Preserve the silhouette. Choose Fit whole image in the online editor. A wide source image may leave space around the character; this is preferable to cropping off the shoes.
  4. Record open questions. Add notes for missing rear details, clothing construction or unresolved proportions before sharing the sheet with an artist or modeler.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you begin.

Is a turnaround the same as an orthographic model sheet?

No. This template includes a three-quarter perspective view. Exact orthographic drawings need consistent projection and measurements supplied or corrected by the artist.

Can I make a turnaround from one portrait?

You can place that portrait in a panel, but the template does not invent a side or back view. Supply the missing artwork, or request access to the separate AI-generation beta and review its results.

Is it free, and where do my files go?

The PNG and SVG downloads and online sheet editor are free, with no account or credits required. The online editor processes your images and notes in this browser tab. Download before closing it; the editing session is not saved.
